Timeless X offers both EOA wallets and smart wallets powered by account abstraction. While EOA wallets remain the primary flow for the users due to their widespread adoption, we're excited to provide our users with the option to explore the advanced capabilities of smart wallets.
With our smart wallets, you can;
enjoy gasless/sponsored transactions on dApps, reducing friction in your web3 interactions
pay for gas fees using stablecoins like USDC and USDT across all supported chains, offering more flexibility in managing your crypto assets
combine multiple transactions into a single transaction, streamlining your workflow and potentially saving on gas fees
Account abstraction experience is currently supported on Ethereum, Base, Linea, Polygon, Arbitrum and BNB Chain. To learn more about account abstraction, you can visit here.
Smart wallets with AA* tag are designed to manage your assets under the exclusive control of smart contracts, introducing a suite of advanced features.
To import an AA smart wallet into your wallet, follow the specific guidelines based on the type of wallet you initially used to create your account. Understanding the process ensures a smooth transition and access to your AA smart wallet.
Start by importing a regular wallet associated with your smart wallet. Once you import your regular wallet (EOA) successfully, your smart wallet will be automatically retrieved.
If you initially used 'Connect with Metamask' option to set up your wallet, you need to tap 'Import other wallet' and import the same Metamask wallet by selecting 'Import private key' or 'Import seed phrase' option to retrieve your smart wallet.
If your AA smart wallet was created using the keyless wallet creation option, your account will automatically be retrieved once the wallet is imported through the same way.
If you initially used keyless Apple or Google option to create your smart wallet, you need to first choose Keyless option, then connect the same Apple or Google account to importy your AA smart wallet.
When we first launched Timeless X, we used Magic Link's service to allow our users to create smart (AA) wallets via social methods. However, due to issues our users have experienced with this setup, we have decided to phase out the creation of smart wallets via social methods by the end of August 2024. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. This decision will allow us to provide a more seamless and user-friendly experience in Timeless X going forward.
Please make sure to export your private keys from any smart (AA) wallets you created via social methods (Google, Apple, Twitter) in Timeless X by the end of August 2024.
If you have any questions or need assistance with exporting your private keys, please reach out to us at https://t.me/timelessfrens 👋 Thank you for your understanding and for being a valued member of the Timeless X community❣️
Here are the steps to restore your smart (AA) wallet using your private key from Magic Link:
Go to the Magic Link reveal page at https://reveal.magic.link/timeless-wallet
Log in using the same social login method you used when creating your smart wallet originally.
Agree to the terms and conditions presented, then click the "Reveal private key" button to view your wallet's private key and copy.
Open the Timeless X app on your device. Go to the Settings menu and delete all app data.
Select 'Import other wallet' and paste the private key that you copied from the Magic Link page.
Once imported, swipe right in the Timeless X app and tap on 'Manage Wallets'.
Tap the gear icon next to the imported wallet.
Tap on 'Add smart account'.
Timeless X will now restore the same smart wallet that you previously had, but it will no longer be linked to your Magic Link account. Your wallet is now fully managed within Timeless X.
Blockchain transactions are permissionless, meaning that a recipient has no way to control or reject incoming deposits that are sent to it. Once a transaction is submitted to the blockchain, it becomes irreversible. Therefore, it's important to carefully verify the network, address, and method before executing your transfer.
Timeless X currently supports smart wallet deposits across Ethereum, Base, Linea, Polygon, Arbitrum and BNB Chain. To learn more about account abstraction, you can visit here.
If you already sent funds to your smart AA wallet on an unsupported network, we have both reassuring and forward-looking updates:
Positive Update: Your funds are secure in your wallet, not lost. They remain under your control, safeguarded on the blockchain.
Forward-Looking Note: While the network your funds are on might not yet be supported by Timeless X, rest assured that access to these assets will become available as soon as we integrate this network. Our goal is to embrace all major networks, enhancing our wallet's inclusivity and flexibility. Although we cannot provide a specific timeline just yet, expanding our network support is a top priority.
Meanwhile, please stay tuned for updates as we work on it and follow us on X and Telegram.
Interacting with an AA smart wallet for the first time triggers a deployment process, which is essential for enabling the smart wallet's functions. For instance, executing a one-click swap on a decentralized exchange (DEX) incurs initial deployment fees, increasing the gas costs associated with the transaction.
Wallet providers like Timeless X DO NOT have any control over the gas fees associated with the AA smart wallets.
Furthermore, smart contract operations are inherently more complex than basic token transfers. This complexity arises from the sophisticated interactions and computational demands of executing smart contract logic, contributing to increased gas fees. These additional costs reflect the resource-intensive nature of securely facilitating advanced features and functionalities within the blockchain network.
To create or import a smart wallet, you'll begin by creating a regular wallet (EOA). This account serves as the foundation for controlling on-chain activities and facilitating account recovery processes. Once you create a regular wallet, follow the steps below to create a smart wallet
